ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP)

If you don’t know, now you know…

  • Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy involves Ketamine (a dissociative anesthetic) to enhance the therapeutic experience. Through this guided and carefully administered approach, individuals and couples can more deeply explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences, leading to breakthroughs and accelerated healing.

  • Ketamine therapy presents a distinctive method of healing, particularly beneficial for individuals who feel stagnant or have difficulty advancing through traditional talk therapy. By tapping into deeper levels of consciousness, ketamine therapy has the potential to unveil insights, encourage emotional processing, and support profound personal growth.

  • Rapid Relief: Ketamine therapy often provides rapid relief from symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Enhanced Emotional Processing: Ketamine can help individuals access and process deeply rooted emotions, facilitating profound insights and therapeutic breakthroughs.

Long-lasting Effects: Unlike some medications that require daily dosing, the effects of ketamine therapy can provide sustained relief, lasting for weeks or even months after treatment.

Reduced Suicidal Thoughts: Ketamine therapy can rapidly reduce suicidal ideation, offering hope and support to those in crisis.

Neuroplasticity Promotion: Ketamine may promote neuroplasticity (the brain's ability to reorganize and form new neural connections), potentially leading to lasting changes in thought patterns and behaviors.

Personalized Treatment: Ketamine therapy can be tailored to each individual's needs, with dosage and treatment frequency adjusted to optimize results and minimize side effects.

Holistic Healing: Ketamine therapy addresses both mental and emotional aspects of well-being, offering a holistic approach to treatment that supports overall health and wellness.

  • Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is an affordable, accessible treatment option. While the medical intake and follow-ups are not covered by insurance, they are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.

  • Ketamine effects typically last around 45 minutes. The experience is generally described as pleasant and people often report feelings of detachment from the body and expanded perceptions. During the session, clients recline comfortably due to reduced motor and verbal abilities. Although articulating the experience may be challenging, we provide time after the session for processing and discussion. Studies suggest lasting mood benefits and neurological growth for up to two weeks following the Ketamine experience.

  • A typical KAP session lasts for 3 hours.
